Emotional Freedom Technique – EFT – Meridian Tapping

Meridian Tapping Helps Relieve Stress, and Clear Out Negative Emotions Holding You Back

What is Meridian Tapping?

Adrian WebbThis is a wonderful technique for removing the negative emotions that limit our success. Using this technique, you can gain the emotional freedom to truly pursue having, being, and doing what you really want in life.

Meridian tapping is a combination of ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology. Literally, it involves tapping with your fingertips on specific points (meridian points) of your face and upper body, while repeating selected statements out loud.

There are meridian pathways in your body, through which energy flows, where your emotions get stuck or conjested in some way.

By tapping, you are sending an electrical signal through the body that clears these blockages, these stuck energies, allowing energy to flow freely again, and you experience relief from the emotional and physical pains you may have been suffering from.

As you are tapping away, you are opening up circuits in your body and in your mind. Your mind is not in your brain – it is throughout your entire body.

The point is, these emotional and physical pains can be symptoms of anxiety and stress, fears and phobias, performance blocks, post traumatic stress, and deep rooted issues from your childhood that have resulted in limited beliefs and self-sabotage.

This is a technique that can provide dramatic effects in just minutes, and costs nothing to practise, all you need are your fingers, and you can practise it on your own, at any time, in any place:

This psychological acapuncture technique has had dramatic effects on people all over the world, and in recent years has been becoming more and more popular, and more and more accepted, as a highly effective strategy for eliminating old fears, limited thinking and other deep rooted issues that may be holding you back.

This is a great exercise for reducing anxiety, worry, stress, indecision, and other negative emotions.

For example, when dealing with back pain, you might be dealing with the stresses triggering the back pain. You tap these stresses away. You unblock your meridian points.  The physical pain fades away.

Some speakers, for example, before going on stage, use EFT to calm their nerves, to get clear, so they can be totally focussed in this moment. EFT helps them get themselves into a peak emotional state so that they can project that to their audience.

Using EFT with Mind Movies

You get stuck (because of past issues), and you feel angry, unworthy, whatever. You stop watching, you tap away on the issue, and get clear, then you can go back to watching your Mind Movies and focus on your vision again.

When you are combining Mind Movies with meridian tapping, you are bringing mind and body together.

Tapping addresses what’s happening right NOW, whatever is holding you back. You can get rid of the back pain, or limiting belief, for example, so you can then focus on watching your Mind Movies.

You can also watch your Mind Movies while tapping away on an issue that’s affecting you in a negative way. You are subconsciously clearing out any energy blockages there and then.

For example. you are watching your Mind Movie, and there’s a picture of a beautiful home and the affirmation states “I am a millionaire” and you tell yourself “No, I’m NOT!”

By tapping, you are clearing on these limiting beliefs there and then, while watching the mind movie, so your subconscious mind is being programmed that you ARE a millionaire right now and there are no limiting beliefs getting in the way.

Preparing Yourself For a Tapping Exercise

Think of an issue that is troubling you and give it a simple name (fear of public speaking, headache, debt, anger with John, inability to take action, lack of confidence, discomfort in social situations, etc.).

This simple name/phrase will be your Reminder Phrase. The issue troubling you is showing up as emotional or physical pain of some kind.

Before you start your tapping exercies, measure the intensity of that discomfort on a scale of 1 to 10 (one being mininum discomfort and 10 being maximum discomfort).

Then, after completing a round of tapping, measure it again, on a scale of 1 to 10. You may find that the intensity of that emotional or physical discomfort does not feel as strong. You can keep repeating your tapping exercises until you experience a significant improvement in how you feel. Your objective is to bring this discomfort down to zero.

It is very likely that you may feel clear about the specific issue you were focussing on, but your tapping may have brought up another issue. In subsequent rounds the Setup Affirmation and the Reminder Phrase are adjusted to new wording, if appropriate, or to reflect that you are addressing the remaining problem.

Many people experience significant relief and feel so much better about themselves. Lifelong issues that have caused them so many problems have sometimes all but disappeared, and those people are now able to move on with their lives and do things they couldn’t do before due to their limiting beliefs.

The tapping on their meridian points has cleared that stuck energy that caused their emotional or physical pain, allowing their life energy to flow freely again, as it’s supposed to do. When your energy is flowing freely, you can function efficiently.
